Highly sophisticated measurement technology is a prerequisite for quality and advancements in trade, industry, science, healthcare and environmental protection.
At the top of the hierarchy of any national metrology system, we find the “national standards”. Each industrial nation needs a body, which can maintain these measurement standards and ensure their accuracy through international comparison.
In Austria, the responsible body is the BEV – the Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying. Since the BEV does not itself work in the area of humidity and air velocity, it has appointed the company E+E Elektronik as “designated laboratory”, responsible for maintaining and developing the national measurement standards for humidity and air velocity. Besides maintaining these national measurement standards, E+E Elektronik also conducts metrological research and further development in this area. Accredited calibration centres must be able to ensure traceability to an NMI (National Metrology Institute). That is why E+E Elektronik also offers the required metrological services for Austria.
The designated calibration laboratory at E+E Elektronik issues BEV certificates for the following measurements:
Based on the agreement between the members of the EA (European Cooperation for Accreditation) and ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Organisation), the calibration certificates issued by E+E comply with internationally recognised standards.
The E+E OEKD laboratory is accredited in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 17025.
The Austrian Federal Ministry of Economics, Family and Youth (BMWFJ) is responsible for the accreditation and supervision.
Each OEKD certificate must be approved by an authorised signatory. OEKD certificates are issued for measuring instruments, which require a particularly high degree of reliability (e.g. works standards) or where measurements need to be traceable.Certificates for the following measured variables can be issued by E+E OEKD laboratory:
